Photoshop Elements 7 slide show

When I create a slideshow , I get a black border top & bottom of my widescreen slide. I would like to know how to remove that border. If I send the same slide to premier elements, it looks fine. But I like the slide show transitions etc in the photoshop elements. How do I make the slide (photo taken in a 16x9 format from my DSLR camera)fill the screen without borders either on top or at the sides.THanks for any help

What is the resolution of your pictures and when you create a slideshow in PRE, are you able to see your pictures correctly without any distortion?
